🔥 A new word in the preservation of cultural traditions

The Department of Ecology at IFNTUOG has won an international project in the HUSKROUA 2021-2027 cross-border cooperation program. The main beneficiary is IFNTUOG. The project manager is Prof. Liudmyla Arkhypova and the project coordinator is Prof. Yaroslav Adamenko, who have successful experience in implementing projects in the HUSKROUA program 2014-2020.

Partners with whom more than one project has been implemented over the past 20 years – Technical University of Cluj Napoca – Nord University Center of Baia Mare and Association Academic Organization for Research, Innovation and Professional Development (project leaders Assist. Prof. PhD. Ramona DEMARCSEK and Assoc. Prof. Eng. Cristian BARZ). The title of the project is Rediscovering our Common Cultural Roots and Didgitalizing them for Future Generations.

The main goal of the project is to deepen cooperation between technical universities by rediscovering our common cultural roots and digitizing them for future generations and simultaneously develop communication skills of technical university students to promote cultural heritage in the border region.
It is planned to organize joint actions to preserve and popularize local cultural traditions in Romania and Ukraine; to hold joint educational events for students of the two technical universities to promote cooperation in the field of culture and intercultural dialogue.

The project includes the creation of a cultural center and the purchase of equipment to digitize cultural heritage, which will interest young people and help preserve cultural heritage. The virtual centers will be created simultaneously at both universities.

The project envisages the organization of two student camps – one in Romania and one in Ukraine – where students will present their culture together at an intercultural festival through art, music, dance, food, etc. During and after the project, seminars, conferences, workshops, and other events are planned to be held on an ongoing basis.

It is innovative that the development of programs for using the cultural values of the Carpathians for virtual reality will begin during the project and will be continued by students in the future. The e-album “Cultural Values in the Common Carpathians (Ukraine-Romania)”, which includes the sections “Art”, “Food”, “Folk Crafts”, “Folk Traditions”, “Holidays”, “Music”, “Dance”, will be available to everyone after the project is completed.

It should be noted that the foundations for such cooperation with Romanian colleagues were laid during a working visit to Romania by the Rector of IFNTUOG Ihor Chudyk and the Director of the Institute of Humanitarian Training and Public Administration Dmytro Dzvinchuk, who visited the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. But their origins date back to the 1990s. During this time, numerous joint international projects were implemented within the framework of cross-border cooperation on environmental issues, practices, conferences, and excursions of teachers and students to advanced Romanian enterprises were organized. Now both educational institutions have opened new horizons of cooperation.
