The first student camp of the Root4Dig project took place in the summer of 2025, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region of the Ukrainian Carpathians.
Students from both countries worked together in traditional Hutsul craft workshops, visited ethnographic museums and wooden churches, and documented the objects and spaces for the shared digital album.
The camp established the working method later repeated in Maramureș: a craft is learned by practising it, and digital documentation comes after you understand how the thing is made.
