1 / 4In October 2025, students from the technical universities of Baia Mare and Ivano-Frankivsk met in Maramureș for the second camp of the Root4Dig project. The first had taken place in Ukraine during the summer.
The idea behind the camp is simple: to digitise a craft, you first have to understand how it is made. So the students did not look at objects in display cases, they worked alongside the craftspeople.
The programme
| Date | Workshop |
|---|---|
| 6 October | Pottery workshop |

What remains
The objects made by the students, the photo and video material for the digital album, and the 3D scans that feed into the virtual reality programmes developed further as bachelor theses.
The camp closed with an intercultural festival, where students from the two countries presented their culture through dance, music and food.
